Referral Landing Pages
Almost nobody builds both sides of the loop. We design referral landing pages as two connected pages — the advocate page and the referred-friend page — each written for its own audience, so your referral program actually gets shared and actually converts.
What is a referral landing page
A referral landing page built as two pages, not one.
A referral landing page — or refer-a-friend page — is a component of your referral program, but almost every competitor treats it as a single page. There isn't one referral page; there are two: the advocate page and the referred-friend page, with different audiences and different jobs. Own that distinction and the page earns its keep.
Advocate landing page design
The page your existing customer sees — built to make sharing effortless and the reward feel like a gift, not a chore.
Referred-friend landing page
A distinct page for the person being referred, written to convert someone who doesn't know you yet, not a repeat of the advocate copy.
Incentive & reward framing
Double-sided "give X, get Y" rewards, framed as a gift the advocate gives their friend rather than a payout they earn.
Referral platform integrations
ReferralCandy, Friendbuy, Referral Rock, Talkable, Extole, UpPromote, Refersion and Impact — built to work with what you run.
Unique links & multi-channel share
Unique referral links with email, SMS and share-button distribution, so advocates can share however is easiest for them.
Tracking, attribution & fraud prevention
Referral tracking and attribution built in from the start, with fraud-prevention measures so rewards go to real referrals.
Built for both sides
The two-page loop, designed as one connected system.
Almost every competitor sells you one referral page. We design the loop as a system — the advocate's page, the friend's page, the incentive that connects them, and the tracking that proves it worked.
The advocate page
Where your existing customer generates a unique link and shares it — built for someone who already trusts you.
See more →The referred-friend page
Where the friend lands — built to convert someone meeting your brand for the first time via a personal recommendation.
See more →Incentive design
Double-sided reward tiers designed around gift framing, proven to outperform a flat cash payout.
See more →Tracking & attribution
Referral tracking that correctly attributes the friend's purchase back to the advocate who sent them.
See more →Fraud prevention
Safeguards against self-referral and reward abuse, so incentive spend goes to real advocacy.
See more →B2B & SaaS programs
Referral program pages built for B2B and SaaS motions, not just DTC and ecommerce.
See more →Why the loop has to be two pages
Your advocate and their friend are not the same audience.
Your advocate already trusts you — the job is making sharing effortless. Their friend has never heard of you — the job is building enough trust to convert on a cold, if personal, recommendation. One page can't do both jobs well.
We also argue against gating the whole program behind a signup form: the fewer steps between "I want to share this" and an actual shared link, the more the program gets used.
What almost every competitor skips
A single referral page vs. the full two-page advocate/friend loop.
This is the distinction most referral-program platforms don't design for properly — and the reason this page is worth building right.
| Single referral page | theonrep two-page loop | |
|---|---|---|
| Advocate-specific page | ✓ Yes | ✓ Yes |
| Dedicated referred-friend page | — | ✓ Yes |
| Gift-framed incentive copy | Sometimes | ✓ Yes |
| Signup gate before sharing | Often required | Removed by default |
| Attribution & fraud prevention | Platform default | Tuned to your program |
| Built for | One generic audience | Two distinct audiences |
What a complete referral program needs
The pieces that make a referral program actually get shared.
These are the details that separate a referral program people use from one that sits quietly unused after launch.
Gift-framed incentive
Rewards framed as something the advocate gives their friend, not a fee they collect — proven to lift share rates.
No signup gate
Sharing available immediately, without forcing the advocate through an extra account or form first.
Clear tracking & attribution
Every referral traceable back to its advocate, so rewards are paid accurately and on time.
Fraud prevention
Safeguards against self-referrals and reward abuse built into the tracking logic from day one.
Why is my referral program not getting shares?
Usually one of three things: the reward reads as a transaction instead of a gift, there's a signup gate or extra friction between wanting to share and actually sharing, or there's no dedicated page for the friend being referred, so the loop dies on arrival. Tell us how your program is structured today and we'll show you exactly where it's leaking shares.

Referral landing page FAQs
A referral landing page is a page built to power word-of-mouth growth — in a well-built program it's actually two pages: the advocate page where an existing customer shares a unique link, and the referred-friend page where that link lands.
A clear, gift-framed incentive, a unique referral link generated without friction, multi-channel share options (email, SMS, share buttons), a dedicated page for the referred friend, and tracking that attributes purchases back to the right advocate.
Start by designing both sides of the loop separately — the advocate's sharing experience and the friend's landing experience — then connect them with a referral platform like ReferralCandy, Friendbuy or Referral Rock for tracking and reward fulfillment.
Double-sided rewards — where both the advocate and the referred friend get something — consistently outperform one-sided incentives, and rewards framed as a gift the advocate is giving tend to drive more shares than a reward framed as a fee they're earning.
Generally, no. The more friction between a customer wanting to share and actually generating their link, the fewer referrals you'll get — we typically recommend making the referral link available immediately after purchase or account creation.
Through a referral platform or unique-link system that attributes each new customer back to the advocate who referred them — tools like ReferralCandy, Friendbuy, Talkable, Extole or Impact all handle this, and we build the pages to integrate directly with whichever you use.
A referral program rewards existing customers for referring people they personally know, usually with a gift-style incentive; an affiliate program pays commission to publishers or influencers for driving sales, typically at arm's length rather than through a personal relationship.
Common causes include a reward that reads as transactional rather than a gift, a signup gate adding friction before sharing, or having no dedicated page for the referred friend — all three are addressed directly in how we design the two-page loop.
